I am so sad about Cynthia's passing. She had the special position of being the youngest of the double first cousins in the Bowden family. I met her when she was a bright-eyed teen. She had the same refined beauty as a lady. To my Bowden family, bless your hearts. I don't say this as a cliche but as a plea to God on behalf of all who love Cynthia for surely your hearts are broken. I love you all. Brenda Scott Bowden, Fort Lauderdale, FL
I pray that the family is comforted during this difficult time.

Cynthia and I worked together at Duke for years. She was an awesome person. I never saw her come out of character when the doctors would get on her nerves. She would always kill ''em with kindness. She was dedicated to her work even when she was in pain she was here until she couldn't take it no more. She loved her boys always talking and bragging about them. And her man the love of her life. Cynthia the good ones always go first. You knew the Lord so I know your going to be alright. No more suffering. I love you and I'm sure going to miss you my friend.
