Geraldine Thorpe Lane was born to Eddie Thorpe and Bessie Thorpe Harris on January 1, 1933, in Wake County. She departed this life at home on October 5, 2023.
Geraldine received her educational training at Apex Elementary School and Berry O’Kelly. She graduated from Shaw University in 1955 and was an active member of the AKA Sorority for many many years. Geraldine taught High School in Caswell, Wake and Lenoir County. After retiring she taught at Lenoir Community College for several years.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon Lane, parents, Bessie and Eddie Thorpe and stepfather, Ernie Harris, sister, Lelia Harris, Mable Burton, brothers Elmo Thorpe, Claude Thorpe, Walter Thorpe, Willie Harris, Walter Harris, Wade Harris and James Harris. She is survived by two sisters, Edna Fogg and Hazel Ball, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives
Visitation: 2:00 - 5:00 pm Friday, October 13, 2023, at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
Wake: 1:00 - 1:30 pm Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Apex, NC 27502.
Funeral will be held 1:30 pm Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2617 Mt. Zion Church Road in Apex, NC 27502.
