James Anthony "Denmark" Batiste Sr, the son of Leta Mae Strickland and the late Donald Davis and bonus parents Mary and Henry Strickland, was born September 10, 1962, and he entered the doors of enteral life on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
James aka Speedy or Jumping Bean a Cary High School graduate, was an athlete growing up, and later in life, he began a career in the transportation industry traveling throughout the roads of North Carolina. James was a devoted family man, he loved spending time with his grands, and cooking out for family gatherings. He never gave up on an opportunity to be outside whether it was planting in his garden, and sitting outside taking in nature, listening to that good ole old-school music, and he especially loved fishing from sunrise to sunset. James was a diehard North Carolina Wolfpack and Dallas Cowboys' fan never missing a game if possible. Most importantly he was a man of God, who loved his church family at The Church on the Living Edge in Longwood, Fl.
James memories and the legacy he left us will always be remembered by his mother Leta Mae Strickland, children Shauna Fredrick, Jammie Stewart, James Batiste Jr., Juan Batiste, grand-children Jaden Fredrick, Zariah Kenner, Ramir Stewart, Damien, and Abigail Batiste, siblings Sherry Jenkins, William Strickland, Loretta Batiste, Lorette Batiste-Pereira, Minerva Strickland, five nephews, two nieces and a host family and friends.
