Johnny Lipscomb Sr., affectionately known as “Little Johnny,” was born on April 8, 1948, to the late John and Libby Lipscomb in Wake County, North Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2026, at Pruitt Health Care in Raleigh, NC.
Johnny was a proud member of the Fuquay Consolidated Class of 1967. After graduating, he pursued his passion for barbering and enrolled at Harris Barber College in Raleigh, where he earned his certification and license. He served as an official referee for the CIAA and worked at Morris and Associates for many years.
Johnny had a gift for growing flowers-his green thumb was well known. If you needed something planted, he was the one to call. He was also an avid NC State Wolfpack fan, and his beloved moped was decked out in Wolfpack red. Fun-loving and full of life, Johnny loved to dance; if there was a dance floor, he was on it. He also enjoyed playing the saxophone, another one of his passions. He was a faithful church member until his health began to decline. Johnny loved the Lord, his children, grandchildren, family, and church family deeply.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Haywood Cozart. Johnny was loved by many and leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Frankie Tillage Everett (Johnny) of Cary, NC; his sons, Johnny Lipscomb, Jr. of Bunn, NC, and Tyree Lipscomb of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Jerrica, Brittany, Zaria, Gary, Andrae, and Zymir; sisters Nannie McLean and Velma Coleman, both of Fuquay-Varina; brother George Cozart; a host of nieces and nephews; and a loyal friend, Alex Carl Henley.

Condolences and Prayers to the Family. Johnny was always so joyful and kind every time we saw him. I am going to miss the " fun rivalry " him and my husband had between them. Concerning their favorite basketball teams. Johnny was an NC State Wolf Pack fan and my husband is a UNC Carolina Tarheel fan. They would have me laughing so hard about the way. They would " trash talk " each other's basketball team...Larry Leach & Ellowee Leach..
