Kimberly M. Lopez Matias, 20 passed on May 1, 2025.
Kimberly Michel Lopez Matias was 20 years old and loved by everyone she came across. She was the second oldest of four, Juan Alfredo Lopez Matias, Ashley Anai Lopez Matias, and Levi Lopez Matias, and the daughter of parents, Brenda Beatris Matias Perez and Juan Alvaro Lopez Pinzon. Michelle was the joy of many; she helped her mom in her line of work of cleaning houses. Kimberly loved kids and babies, and as she was growing up, she would show her love for children and would care for them as well, such as her little cousins. She was so excited when her niece, Violet Aurora Lopez Barrera, came into this world in February of 2025. She was her joy and happiness, and if she could see her everyday, she will do anything to make it happen, even if it would be for a couple of minutes. She would help take care of her when Violet’s mother went back to work. Kimberly loved puzzles and building legos (she had a collection of built figures) and loved cooking. She was the chef of the house; she was the definition of a way to a person’s heart is through their stomach. She loved spending time with her siblings, Ashley and Levi, such as going out to eat and blasting music in the car. She always would spend time trying to beautify her oldest brother and father with skin care and hair care. She someday wanted kids of her own but showed her love to every kid she would interact with. Kimberly also was the life of the party, and she loved the dance. She sure danced those feet off at every party she went to and wouldn’t get tired. She was also sensitive at heart. No matter how tough she seemed, her heart was soft and her personality was sweet as nectar and her personality bloomed like a beautiful flower with everyone. She was a very funny individual and knew how to get a laugh and smile from you, and her laugh was unique and unforgettable. Kimberly would try to live life to the fullest every single day. There was no such thing as impossible or “can’t.” She also disliked negativity; she would always be positive and joyful and filled everyone’s life with life. She always tried to help everyone to be their best version of themselves. Just like Kimberly loved everyone, she was loved by her dear David. She was a server and waitress at a restaurant in Angier named “Mi Cancun” and made the first move on David as he was a customer who would eat at the restaurant. She always said David was her “macho.” She knew what she wanted all the time and knew David was for her; it was love at first sight. She loved David with all of her heart and soul, and David would treat her like a queen and would make her smile and laugh more than ever. Both together are like the Sun and Moon, and both of them together will shine their beautiful light on us forever until the end of time.
Clematis flowers, Kimberly’s birth flower, are not only known for their beauty and representing deep admiration and a refined sense of love but also symbolize transformation and spiritual growth. As the flowers bloom and go through various stages, they remind us of the continuous development and evolution we undergo in our lives. In many cultures, clematis flowers are linked to spiritual enlightenment and personal transformation, representing the journey towards self-discovery and inner growth.
