La’Var Wayne Autry, also known as “All Star”, was born on December 20, 1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to Clifton and Lynnest Autry. On November 16, 2025, at the age of 37, God sent His angels to carry La'Var home.
La'Var's interests included spending cherished time with his family, teaching gymnastics to children of all ages, and placing smiles on the faces of everyone he met. He devoted much of his time and energy to being a loving father, a devoted son, and a caring brother. His gestures spirit and joyful presence touched countless lives, and he will be remembered for the love he gave so freely.
La'Var always tried to find the silver lining in every situation life brought his way. He had a special gift for making children, adults, friends, family - and even strangers - feel seen, valued, and important. He understood that life came with its ups and downs, but he believed in celebrating the small wins that carried us forward.
This outlook on life is what made La'Var not only a remarkable coach and teacher, but also a loyal friend to so many. One of his favorite sayings and a phrase he lived by, was: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” His positivity, resilience, and warm spirit continue to inspire all who knew him.

I am so sad to hear of Lavar's passing. I was Lavar's 5th grade teacher. He always held a very special place in my heart! I have seen him several times since being his teacher and I always was the recipient of his big bear hugs, picking me up off the ground! His smile and positive, upbeat personality always brought me joy whenever I had the opportunity to see him. You will be so missed!!
