Michael Todd was born in Englewood, Colorado on November 27, 1967. He was the second son of Charles and Joan Todd. Brother to Charles Spencer Todd and stepbrother to Jonathan Howington. As a young boy, Mike's family moved across the country, from Los Angeles to Atlanta to Littleton, Colorado, before they ultimately settled in North Carolina. And following a short residence in Southern California, Mike joined his family in North Carolina.
Mike's formal education was just the beginning of his path. After spending a year at Franklin Community College in North Carolina, he excelled at ITT, where he earned as associate's degree in computer science, His natural aptitude for understanding complex systems and his mechanical skills were beyond impressive - he ranked in the 97th percentile for mechanical understanding. Mike's hands could build, fix, and create just about anything, and he never stopped learning. But while he had a brilliant mind for technology. Mike's heart belonged to music.
From a young age, he was drawn to the guitar, composing music in every genre and performing with several bands over the years. He became an outstanding guitarist, one whose talents were recognized and praised by many in the music industry. Music wasn't just hobby for Mike - it was a lifelong passion. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, he had a special gift for concert staging, working as a stagehand, setting up sound, wiring, and creating experiences that made performances unforgettable.
Throughout his life, Mike followed his passions of music, sports, fast cars, motorcycles and dogs, especially Hannah and Midnight, and he explored many different career paths. From working with his father in construction to working in real estate with mother, Mike always found a way to contribute, learn, and grow. But no matter where his career took him, his passion for music and his deep understanding of technology and mechanics always remained at the core of who he was.
What made Mike truly special was not just his accomplishment, but his character. He was known for his kindness, his unwavering support of his friends, and his incredible ability to bring people together. He was a true friend, son, brother, cousin - one who was always there when needed.
Mike is now reunited with his family and friends who have gone before him, and we take comfort in knowing that he will be surrounded by love, music, and the joy of all the things he treasured in life.
