Obituary For Stephen Miles Holland
On November 12, 1958, the birth certificate read 'Stephen Miles Holland'…mother, Flora Holland, father, Joseph Underwood. Besides mother and father, four brothers and one sister have preceded him in death.
Steve, as most people called him, graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School and Wake Tech Community College. Steve also loved, played and was good at the sport of basketball.
He worked for many years at what everyone in Fuquay called “The Diaper Factory”. He then moved on to work in construction and installing garage doors. He also worked with the sanitation department in Durham, NC where Junior Epps was his supervisor. The guys he worked with joked with Junior and Steve, calling Steve, Junior's son.
Steve leaves to mourn his passing… son, Steven Miles Holland, Jr; sister, Janet Holmes (James); brother, Darryl Holland (Kristen); aunts, Rose Underwood Gill, Addie Underwood, Joyce Myatt and Ruby Stubbs Bullock; uncle, Willie Underwood (Mary); sister-in-law, Catherine Holland; one niece, six nephews and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; special, close friends, Henry and Daphne, who looked after him South Carolina and helped take care of him until his passing.
