Sylvia Maynor Baxter Weather
At age 90 Sylvia passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. She was born on April 6,1936 Bronx, New York to Theodore and Alice Baxter.
These authentic touches help people remember our Mother as the real person she was: Sylvia will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, humor and devotion to her family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, one Great Great Grandson and many friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her Father Theodore Baxter, Mother Alice Baxter Griffin, Sister Rita, Brothers Teddy and Richard, Husband Venie Weather and son Franklyn Weather. Sylvia was the Matriarch of our family and left an awesome Legacy. She was the cornerstone.
Sylvia was beyond her resume-she Loved her family and friends, she was a devoted mother, losing her brings overwhelming grief. Let her story be preserved for now and future generations. She enjoyed church (she was on the Mother's board), she also enjoyed singing, shopping and her legendary Sunday dinners after church with Steffany (the eldest sibling),she also enjoyed roundtrip car rides to her doctor's appointments with Stacey.

Surviving family members: Daughters: Steffany Guthrie (the eldest), Stacey Price (Nathaniel), Aurora Santos (niece/daughter) and Vanessa.
Grandchildren: Dayna (Eric), Kaysie (Maurice), Chelsea, Courtney, Indya, Gavin, Andre, Khammaneh, Griffin, Maeson, Elena and Alicia
Great Grand children: Kyle, Jayde, Kaiden, Jared, Jasper, Andrew, Allyanna, and KaiSimone
Great Great Grandchild: Jordan Xavier Lloyd
Bonus children: Venie Weather Jr, Twinkie (Kenny), Paul (Trina), Ozell, Dwayne (Angelica) and a host of bonus Grandchildren
So many things made Sylvia unique: Her hobbies, her singing (her nick name is Singh), butterflies, volunteer work; just some of the causes she championed. Who she really was was beyond dates and names, her accomplishments defined her days and deserves recognition
We celebrate you Mom, you've successfully balanced a demanding professional life as well as daily acts of love, (you've even instilled that in us).
Sylvia is now resting in the arms of Jesus Christ my Lord--Timothy 4:7 states: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
Good job mommy, talk about a crown of righteousness!

My heart is broken. I'm really going to miss my visits with Ms. Sylvia. She was a pure joy to be around. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She's with her heavenly family now.
