Tracy Angelique Taylor, 54 of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026.
Tracy was born in West Palm Beach, Florida at Good Samaritan Hospital. Her early years were spent in Huntsville, Alabama; Knoxville and Memphis, Tennessee; as well as Orlando and Maitland, Florida. She later moved to North Carolina to attend North Carolina Central University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology. She made North Carolina her home and remained there throughout her adult life.
At an early age, Tracy dedicated her life to the Lord and was a member of the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando and Bazzel Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Tracy was a dedicated social worker who supported children in the foster care system for more than 20 years. She took great pride in advocating for and acting in the best interests of young children, many of whom she remained in contact with throughout her life. Tracy was both academically and artistically gifted, thriving in spaces where she could make room for both.
Tracy found joy in creative expression. She loved writing poetry and had a unique gift for making crafts from the most unexpected and often overlooked material. Her creativity reflected the way she saw beauty and possibility in everything around her.
She was also an exceptional cook with a special touch in the kitchen-if you knew she was cooking, you looked forward to the meal and anticipation. Her love for cooking began at an early age, starting with baking some of the best cookies and growing into a true mastery of her culinary skills.
Tracy also loved to dance and sing. Even when pain overwhelmed her body, she used dancing as a way to push through and overcome it--a reflection of her strength, resilience, and enduring spirit.
Tracy was born to her loving parents, Comer and Crystal Bryant Taylor, and was a devoted sister to Tamara Taylor.
She was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Cassandra and Brittany, with Brittany preceding her in death, and grandmother to Ayiana Hill and Ra'Kelle Ingram.
She was also preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Mary Hamilton and Maude Y. Bryant; her grandmothers, Mary Bryant Berkeley and Vincy L. Taylor; her grandfathers, Morris Bryant Jr., and Comer L. Taylor, Sr., her uncles, Zachary Bryant and George Berkeley; and cousins Eboni Corbett and Tommy Taylor, Jr.
Tracy leaves behind a legacy of love in her uncles, Tommy Taylor, Sr. (Thelma) and Marshall Taylor, Sr. (Alberta); great aunt, Dr. Martina Bryant; aunts, Lue Wesley and Kimberly Taylor; cousins, Lynn, Tecia, Derrick, Marlon, Tiffany, LaToya, Marshall, Terrance, Jeremy and several second cousins. She also leaves to cherish her memory special friends, Latanya, Kathleen, Pearlie, Eulusandra, Tamara G. Kim and a host of other dear friends. Tracy gave of herself freely, putting others first and creating space for love, healing, and hope. Her strength, creativity, and generous spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched and the many hearts she helped shape.
Memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Bazzel Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 1228 Wilbon Road in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
