I offer my sincere condolences to the Burwell family. Brother Burwell was a quiet and unassuming man when I met him upon his moving to Charlotte. We were both members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and I enjoyed talking to him in our fraternity house in Charlotte. I had known him for some time before I learned of his basketball exploits. He rarely spoke of them when around the brothers. It was definitely an honor to have known him. He will be missed by the brothers of Pi Phi Chapter. Rest easy my friend. FIETTS

Billy Burwell was a wonderful Boys HIgh School classmate and friend. He always a kind word and smile for everyone in his presence. I enjoyed the Annual BHS Reunion cookout he and his wife hosted every summer, for several years. He was a wonderful soul with a beautiful spirit. William will surely be missed by all. Family, I am sad to hear about the passing of the cousin bill! My Condolences! Last year was the first time I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with him and his cousin Karlitha. I appreciate the time that I was able to spend with them and learn about their journey in life. When I spoke with Bill, it was a little conversation, but he always remembered who I was! I am grateful that I was able to spend this time with them. I can tell he had an amazing life was an awesome man and husband!
