Obituary For Mr. Charlie Frank Logan

Charlie Frank Logan, affectionately known as “Scale, Logan or Cowboy,” was born on August 26, 1949 om Abanda, Alabama to the late Charlie Logan and Eula Bryant Logan. He was the third child born to this union. When he was a small child, his parents moved the family to Upson County in search of jobs at the textile mills. His formative years were all spent in Thomaston. Logan was educated in the public school of Upson County at Thomaston Training Schools and Drake High School. After high school, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. While serving his country, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and other commendations. He was honorably discharged in 1968. After transitioning back to civilian life, he united with Ms. Vivian Walton in Holy Matrimony on June 22, 1969. They were married for 52 years. Always having a great work ethics, Logan was employed by the Upson County Hospital and B. F Goodrich. He was also a private-duty sitter. In 1972, he became gainfully employed by the Ford Motor Company-Atlanta Assembly. He retired after 31 years of service on July 31,2003, Logan was awarded a diploma in brick masonry on February 1976 from Upson County Area Vocational Technical School. He loved cars, horses, vegetable gardening and cooking. Before his many, many, health and medical challenges, he attended church every Sunday. Logan was easy to know because he knew no strangers. He was humble, with an outgoing personality and loved to talk and joke. No part of him was less than genuine and his kindness extended in equal measures to all. His was a life of devotions to his family and friends. Logan was a loving, supportive and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother who left footprints that will be forever etched into the sands of time. In addition to his parents, Logan was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruthie Childs and Ida Daniels; his step-mother, Ella Hall Logan, two step-brothers/nephews, M.C. Harmon-Logan and Robert Lee Harmon-Logan. A sunset is not an ending, but just a pause before a fresh start. God looking down from His great Heaven, seeing Logan on his bed of affliction, sent His angels to summon Logan home to eternal rest on Saturday morning, February 20,2021. Left to fondly remember and cherish his memory are: his wife, Vivian Walton Logan of Thomaston , GA; son, Eric (Natalie) Logan of Thomaston, GA; daughter, Erin Logan of Griffin, GA; granddaughter, Tia Logan of Thomaston, GA; three brothers-in-law, Bentley Childs and Frank Wiggins both of Thomaston, GA; and Charles Daniels of Sterling Heights, MI; God-sister, Carolyn (Charles) Raines of Thomaston, GA; close cousin, J.P(Cynthia) Barnett of Decatur, GA, a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great -nephews, countless cousins and friend who will miss him dearly. Graveside Services were held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 Southview Cemetery
