Sister Ellen Jeanette Mallory (Dinsmore) transitioned through the veil of mortality into immortality early on Friday morning, 4 July 2025. I can only express emotions and feelings for my husband, Paul Hainey (Brother Hainey), and myself through words at this time. Sister Ellen Mallory's Christlike love and service are a beacon of inspiration, shining through to everyone she knew. Even after we moved to Tifton, Georgia, Ellen's monthly calls were a testament to her enduring care. The bond between Ellen and her family, including Brother Paul Hainey, spanning close to thirty years, was a testament to their enduring connection. They never forgot about each other, always reaching out, regardless of the occasion or personal hardship. This year, the news of her illness came as a shock. She'd always say, "Oh, I'm doing alright," And then swiftly change the subject. In her way, she shielded us from worry, never wanting to disrupt our lives. Her selflessness was a testament to her noble character. We had no inkling that she was in the hospital or a rehabilitation facility. She kept her struggle close to her heart, a revelation that left us all in disbelief. We called Sister Ellen Mallory to sing her birthday song on 18 June 2025, a tradition we had sung for years. She didn't answer, so Brother Paul Hainey called her grandson Kevin, and it was then that we learned she was very ill and her health was failing. We spoke with Ellen, assisted by her grandson, who held the phone to her ear. We sang Happy Birthday to her, as we did every year, and told her that we loved her very much. She knew who had called, but soon fell back to sleep. On 4 July 2025, we were informed that Ellen had been called home by Heavenly Father. I can only imagine the Heavenly reunion of Sister Ellen Mallory and her husband, James Kynett Mallory, who departed this life on 23 February 2024, and their daughter, Brandi Elizabeth Mallory, whose life was cut short on 9 November 2023. The joy of their reunion must have been beyond measure; may that alone bring comfort to our hearts. The sorrow of death can be overwhelming for those who remain. With the plan of salvation, we can find solace and strength in knowing that Sister Ellen Mallory entered a realm of unparalleled joy, where love reigns supreme. Ellen, James, and Brandi Mallory are now back together, basking in a state of serenity, free from troubles, pain, and sorrow, as they can rest eternally together as one family. May Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, be with you with the healing power of the Holy Ghost.
Isaiah 60:20: "Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended." "Through tears and trials, through fears and sorrows, through the heartache and loneliness of losing loved ones, there is assurance that life is everlasting. Our Lord and Savior is the living witness that such is so." - President Thomas S. Monson.
God Be with You Till We Meet Again,
Brother Paul S. Hainey and Sister Wendy L. Hainey
