JeQuan Paul, beloved son, father, brother, and friend, sunset was on April 11, 2025, 17:13 at the tender age of 28. JeQuan's sunrise was on June 8, 1996 09:18 on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, Jequan lived a life marked by humility, compassion, and quiet strength. He was always focused on what he wanted to do. JeQuan relocated at the age of 5 years old mostly grew up in Decatur, GA. He graduated from Redan High School. Since graduating high school, JeQuan worked many different jobs, including working in construction and even as an assisted living transport driver for seniors to go to medical appointments. He stayed vigilant and focused on his task. Loyalty was always present for him.
Jequan had a spirit that was both calm and captivating—humble yet charismatic, observant yet deeply engaged. He had a sharp wit, a sarcastic sense of humor, and a smile that could light up any room. To know JeQuan was to love him—his caring nature, loyalty, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A devoted and loving father, JeQuan’s greatest joy was his son, Josiah Paul, whom he shared with Janai Wallace. His role as a father grounded him and fueled his drive for success. He had a deep passion for gaming and always found joy in helping others in quiet, meaningful ways. He loved playing basketball and thought he was the best in his own way.
JeQuan and his family were members of Berean Christian Church, having went to the DeKalb County location. JeQuan was baptized at New Life Christian Church in Decatur, GA occasionally walking closely with Jesus in his own personal way, rooted in love and purpose.
JeQuan is survived by his son Josiah Paul, his mother Ingrid Mercedez Cabey, his father Alex Paul, his siblings ShaniQua Smith, Destiny Paul, and Serenity Paul; his grandmothers Josette Cabey and Victoria Frett; and his aunts Verone Cabey (deceased), Kathy Cabey, and Christine Sydney. He leaves behind his Aunt Kathy Cabey and Iris Rocque. Ethlyn Charles and Verone Cabey. Although she has went on to be with the Lord, we will always remember them. His uncle Irving Jones, Javier Harvey, Sean Webster. Christon and Christopher Jr Cabey. Some of his many cousins include Avinel "Alex" Woodstock III, Terrance Williams Jr. (who was like a brother to JeQuan), Trysten Reynolds, Michael "Mykey" Rocque, Siovoln Jones, Tahnee Rocque, Lanval Rocque, Una Dyer, Avril Dyer, Wilton Dyer. Monelle Charles, Uncles; Tecius Frett, Garvin Frett, Amos Thomas, Jeffery Paul - uncles: Walden Benjamin Akria Phillip, Arianna Phillip, Malique Thomas, Petra Benjamin, Eudine Paul- Yoba, Priscilla Paul, Tanice Frett - aunties; Makayla Thomas, Caheem Henry, Treyvon Frett, Aliyah Frett, Zion Frett- cousins, and not forgetting Cecil Paul
To his family, he was a rock. To his friends, he was a light. And to everyone, he was a reminder that love, humility, and laughter can live in one person. His memory will be cherished always—for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and the quiet strength he carried through life not forgetting his loyalty to his family and friends.
I will always miss you, our conversations and memories we've created over the years though they were virtual it didnt change the fact that we created a forever friendship. I think about you daily and I hope that's you showing your still around. With love always Alexandra ❤️

Ive known Quan for 11years.. youve been my friend from 2013 til now. You always knew how to make me laugh and made sure I was good mentally. The nights has been so still since you were taken from us. We had so much planned for the future. There will always be a place in our hearts and minds for you & all the Memories you've created with us. Continue to watch over me and the people you love! I hope we will meet again in another life. Until then, I will hold and cherish all the good times we shared together in my heart & spirit.
