I now step forward as a WITNESS to the life of my FRIEND Jerome Patton. In the 20th Century, before the oil industry moved its resources from the City of New Orleans, there were a number of business managers know as MASTER MERCHANTS. It was because of these professionals that the restaurants thrived. Their motto was " Fast and Friendly Service with a Superior Product". It was literally because of him that CHURCHS CHICKEN, INC. moved to the front of the pack in the Poultry restaurant business. He did it by works and example in the 1980s. He rejected the racist management and stood tall in the City of New Orleans. He would always talk of educational advancements for his daughters and the benefits of selecting the right educational institutions. He was witty, direct, and worked with a strong, professional passion. In the early 1990s we drifted apart but reunited about 3 years ago. There are few men in my life that I would actually call friend and admire for their works. Jerome is one of them. My heart is broken....May GOD continue to bless his family. Fortunately, we had discussed this very moment. Thank you for being this old fool's friend.

By faith and by spirit the Washington Family celebrates the home going of our good friend. From the 80s in New Orleans to this date, our friendship remains strong. His thoughts were always centered around his family. May the Lord bless and strengthen his family in their time our mourning.

I met and knew Jerome for a very short time, but it was obvious while in his company that he was a Man of faith, he knew the Lord and I know most importantly that the Lord knows him and has received him and he is resting in the comfort of Our Lord and Savior! I remember when we were working for Popeyes in New Orleans and I was his supervisor and I took the managers out for a team building meeting. We were at a restaurant that had 1/2 pound Hamburgers. Everyone had finished eating and Jerome came to me and asked if he could have another one. I laughed, and told him yes. He had quite the appetite 😂.
