A Lifetime of Laughter, Love & Loyalty – Thank You, Ricquel
I met Ricquel over 40 years ago, and from the moment we clicked, she became my person — my sister by choice, my ride-or-die, my heart.
We grew up together, side by side, navigating life from childhood to womanhood — with laughter, secrets, and unwavering loyalty. Through every season of life!
One of my favorite memories — and there are so many — is how we could talk for hours about everything and nothing. Ricquel always knew just what to say to lift me up, and even when she didn't say it, she showed it. Just being in her presence brought comfort, strength, and peace.
She was the life of the party and never met a stranger. Let's not even get started on how resourceful she was! Funny, smart, bold, loyal — the list truly goes on and on. She had a way of lighting up any room and making everyone feel like they mattered.
When she started calling herself "Rolls," I laughed and said, "Rolls? Rolls Rolls?" But honestly, it fit her. She was luxury. She was eccentric. She was one of a kind. And when she put it all together — baby, she put it together. Her style was always fashionable, effortless, and unforgettable, just like her.
Ricquel gave her whole heart to the people she loved, and I was so blessed to be one of them. Through every up and down, she was solid. The kind of friend most people only dream of — and I had her for over four decades.
I don't know how to say goodbye to someone who's been part of my life for so long. So instead, I'll just say:
Thank you, Ricquel. Thank you for the love. Thank you for the loyalty. Thank you for the laughter, the style, the sisterhood, and the memories. Thank you for the everything.
I'll carry you with me, always. You will forever be a part of me. 💔
Rest in power, my beautiful best friend. Until we meet again. 🕊️💫
