Ronnie Lathell Worth
Date of Birth: March 17, 1959
Date of Death: July 1, 2026
Age: 67
Place of Residence: Decatur, Georgia
Ronnie Lathell Worth, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Ronnie was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to Barbara Jean Greene (née Worth) and Harold Lathelle McNeil. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Berlina and Emerson Jordan Worth, before later moving to Decatur, Georgia, with his mother and stepfather, Harry Greene. He graduated from Avondale High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Ronnie was stationed in Hawaii, where he worked in water purification.
On July 21, 1984, Ronnie married the love of his life, Yolanda Worth. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. This year would have marked their 42nd wedding anniversary.
Ronnie dedicated more than two decades of his career to Piedmont Pawn Shop, where he served as manager and became a respected and familiar face in the community. He later continued his career with Arrowhead Pawn before retiring from Stone Mountain Pawn. He genuinely enjoyed helping people and had a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. A stranger rarely stayed a stranger for long, and many left as friends.
Outside of work, Ronnie loved fishing, photography, reading, and collecting unique treasures. He had a deep interest in firearms and their history and rarely started a day without reading the newspaper and staying informed about current events. Naturally curious, he enjoyed discussing politics and religion and was always eager to learn something new. He never turned down a spirited conversation, and his quick wit, strong opinions, and gift for storytelling made him unforgettable to those who knew him.
Above all else, Ronnie loved his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren. To his children, he was more than a father; he was a teacher. Many of the lessons he shared about life, work, perseverance, and standing by his convictions continue to guide them today and will remain part of his legacy for generations to come.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Berlina and Emerson Jordan Worth, who lovingly raised him; his mother, Barbara Jean Greene; his biological father, Harold Lathelle McNeil; his stepfather, Harry Greene; his brother, Cory; and his father-in-law, Lawrence Marshall.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Yolanda Worth; his son, Carlton Antwaon Delaney and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Delaney; his daughter, Kimberly Nicole Horton and son-in-law, Montavis Horton; his cherished grandchildren, Carlton Jr., Alicia, Malia, Kingston, Cam, Evan, and Kal-El; his siblings, Brenda, Renee, Yvette, Glen, Antoine, Yoachia, and Travis; his mother-in-law, Hattie Marshall; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know and love him.
