Obituary For Betty Jean Ford

Our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Betty Jean Miller Ford passed away on December 25, 2023. after a long and full life. She was married to the late Henry Harrison Ford, Sr. Betty Jean was blessed with five children, the late Henry H. Ford, Jr., Gary E. Ford, Linda Ford Smith, Johnny L. Ford, and the late Larry C. Ford. Betty’s legacy continues with the indelible impact on her survivals of Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Evans Whitesides and Edith Lestine Miller, and her brother, Eddie Goforth Whitesides. She was very loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family, host of friends, and countless who knew her as their “Miss Betty” or called her “Grandma Betty.” Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, always missed, and very dear. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, in Forest City, NC who provided invaluable care to our beloved during her transition.
