Obituary For Charles Franklin Miller

Charles Franklin Miller, 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, transitioned peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born December 21, 1940, Charles was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found his greatest joy in the company of his family. He will be remembered for the simple but meaningful moments he cherished—sharing his daily “hellos” and “goodbyes” from his favorite chair, and cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Braves, and Duke Blue Devils. A hardworking man with a strong spirit, Charles dedicated much of his life to Miller Masonry, where he proudly worked alongside his brother until his illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mattie Miller; his children, Charles Miller and Eva Miller; and his brothers, Rev. Robert D. Miller and Bobby Miller.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Darlene Gloria Macopson Miller; his loving children, Tracy Miller (Misha), Tamarria Miller, and Franklin Miller; and his siblings, Hazel Miller, Wilma Carson, Ernestine Payne, and Albert Miller (Debra). He leaves to cherish his memory seven grandchildren: Leon Miller, Latecia Miller, Ceterra Washburn, DiAmico Miller, Kaziah Ussery (Raymond Jr.), Willie Thompson, and Sakima Miller; along with seven great-grandchildren: Alayiah Everhart, Ariyiah Everhart, Celeah Glenn, Tejaylen Glenn, Kinley Ussery, Rhea Ussery, and Rilee Ussery. He will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Charles will be remembered for his warmth, love, and steady presence, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
