Kahmia "Mia" Laurell Godfrey 7, of Monroe, NC was born August 10, 2015, and a native of Forest City, North Carolina she was the daughter of Derrick K. Godfrey Sr. and Camesia M. McDowell. She was in the second grade at Rocky River Elementary School, Monroe, North Carolina.
Her life enjoyment...... Mia enjoyed her life to the fullest playing with her family and friends. And getting on big brother Kyin's nerves every morning before school at 6:30am by taking too much of the bathroom time (she had to do her makeup). Sunset...... Kahmia "Mia" entered eternal rest on Friday, September 23, 2022 She was proceeded in death by her BESTFRIEND Abrianna "Bri" Godfrey. She leaves to cherish fond memories; father, Derrick K. Godfrey, mother, Camesia M. McDowell; six brothers, Keith Godfrey Jr., Kahleek Godfrey, Kiyin Godfrey, Keagan Godfrey, Elijah McDowell, Emarion McKinney; one sister, Keilani Godfrey; paternal grandmother; Cleo Phillips (Benjamin Moore) of Forest City, NC; maternal grandparents; David L. Petty (Caroline), of Forest City, NC, Lisa McDowell ( Mack Mims)) of Caroleen, NC; great grandmother Josephine Mills, of Forest City, NC; godfather, Charles Barbee and godmother, Kim McDowell, Special cousin, Latisha "Nene" Watkins; uncles; Pastor Robert Godfrey (Karen), Marcus Godfrey, Wendell Littlejohn (Leslie), Christopher Godfrey (Amber), Milo Henderson, Davin McDowell (Candice), Byron Baxter, (Shania) and Barron Baxter (Jamie); aunts, Felicia (Jason) Anitra Woody (Montrey), and Raven McDowell; and a host of cousins, friends and her classmates @ Rocky River Elementary.
