Obituary For Mattie Lee Turner

Mattie Lee Turner of Spindale, NC gained her wings on June 7, 2024. She was one of 12 children born to the late Cleroy and Ellen Littlejohn Logan. She was united in marriage to the late Otho Turner for 44 years. God blessed them with 3 children.

Mattie was brought up in Wellspring Methodist Church in Forest City, NC. Then later in life, she became a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Spindale, NC.

She attended Graham Town High School where she received her diploma. She moved to New York and lived there a short time. Then she relocated to Asheville, NC and attended Beauty School where she received her Beautician License. She remained faithful to her craft for 50 plus years.

She is preceded in death by one son, Stephen Turner; 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.

She leaves to cherish one son, Eric Turner of Ellenboro, NC and a daughter, Ellen Turner of Spindale, NC; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

DATE & TIME: Wednesday, June 12, 2024 @ 2:00 pm

FAMILY HOUR: 1 PM - 2 PM

INTERMENT: New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Spindale, NC

I remember he pressing my hair as school in the community. Those curl's lasted a hood while. She had a such sweet and quite spirit about her. Take your rest. Much prayers for the family. Sorry for your lost.
