Obituary For Mrs. Mattie Morris Logan

Mattie Bell Morris Logan was born on July 18, 1916 to the late John Twitty and the late Eliza Morris. She departed this life on August 10, 2021 at Foothills Hospice of the Carolinas, Rutherford County, NC. She joined New Zion C.M.E. Church at an early age, afterwards, she joined People’s Temple C.M.E. Church which merged with Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church . Mattie was the mother of the church and she served as a stewardess. Mattie spent all of her life taking care of others young and old in their homes. She was a member of the Rutherford Golden Senior Citizen Club. She was a volunteered at Yokefellows. Her hobbies were flowers and vegetable gardening, canning and freezing, playing bingo, shopping, enjoying singing and praising God, dipping her snuff, enjoying having a good conversations with everyone and traveling when she could to Florida, Washington, DC, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Moore, her siblings, Witcher Morris, Mandy Twitty, Mittie Twitty, Robert Morris, Four grandchildren, Paul Howell (LaJuana), Mattie Moore (Michael), Naomi Hamilton, granddaughter, Beverly Howell. Mattie leaves to cherish her fond memories; two nieces, Janet Cureton and Juanita Staley, two nephews, Jackie Twitty and Leonard Maxwell, eleven great grandchildren, thirty great -great grandchildren, seventeen great -great -great grandchildren and many more great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
