Reverend Jerry Logan entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Hospice of the Foothills in Forest City, NC. He was born in Rutherfordton, NC to the late Sherman Gray and Ruth Mae Logan.
He was a very soft-spoken man of tall stature. Jerry attended Carver High School and later went on to obtain a Master’s Degree from Rock Hill Bible College. He was married to the love of his life, Rose S. Logan. He was a family man and from that marriage was born a son, Adrian J. Logan. From that union he gained a stepdaughter, Angela Jones and a stepson, James Boyce.
Jerry became a member of New Bethel Independent Church and later became the pastor of White Hall Independent Church in Inman, SC. He preached the word of God for eighteen years. After his time was finished at White Hall, he gave back to help preach in Rutherfordton, NC and later became the senior pastor of Harvest Time Ministry in Rutherfordton, NC for seven years. Jerry worked for General Fireproof and was a supervision at Cowan Tire & Battery in Forest City, NC for thirty years. He also opened up his own business, Logan Music Store in Forest City, NC. His business allowed him the chance to showcase his love for music by selling various types of music equipment for the community. After the closure of those businesses, he worked for Sara Lee Hanes Brand and Diamond Back Tactical.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty- nine years, Rose Logan, father, Sherman Gray, mother, Ruth Mae Logan, brothers, Scottie Logan and John s. Logan.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories; one son, Adrian J. Logan, one stepson, James “Mug” Boyce both of the home, one stepdaughter, Angela Boyce of Spindale, NC, two brothers, Rev. William Logan (Brenda) both of Forest City, NC, Rev. Larry Logan (Greta) Flemington, GA., one sister, Fannie Dickey of Morganton, NC, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
