Samuel R. McDowell of Evans, GA. died at the age of 69 on January 18, 2022, at the VA hospital. He was born in Forest City, NC to Charlie and Elora McDowell, both parents preceded his death. He has lived in the Augusta area for the past 38 years. He served in the US Army for 11 years. He was employed by Wackenhut services, a realtor for Veterans Realty and Coldwell Banker and a mortgage officer for Performance Mortgage Services. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Brenda Dawkins and Betty Samuels and brother Charles McDowell. He leaves behind his loving wife, Darlene L. McDowell, three children Shaundrea R. McDowell of Augusta, GA., Gavin McDowell of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Crystal Lovett of Augusta, GA., three step children, April Mitchell of Grovetown, GA., Aaron Crocker (Kiaunni), of Grovetown, GA., Alicia Crocker of Augusta, GA., three sisters, Jaqueline Johnson of Rutherfordton, NC, Dorothy Thomas (Larry) of Washington., DC ,a three brothers, Donnell McDowell (Velma) of Clinton MD, Sylvester McDowell of Rutherfordton, NC and William Marsh, Washington, DC, Thirteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
