Funeral services for Mother Mary Ann Grayer, 64, will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 5791 Hwy 9, Nichols, South Carolina 29581.
Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
Public viewing for Mother Grayer will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 from 2-7 pm in the D. L. Grate Memorial Chapel of United Funeral Home. Ms. Grayer departed this life Saturday, July 29, 2017 at McLeod Hospice House Florence, South Carolina 29506.
She was born September 5, 1953 in Hartsville, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Nehemiah and Mary Etta James.
Mary was a life long resident of Green Sea, South Carolina. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Mary was also a member of the James Gospel Singers.
Mary was the wife of the late Ronnie Grayer.
She was preceded in death along with her parents, two sisters: Oclevia "Faye" Smith, and Linda A. Ravenell.
Mary leaves to cherish her loving memories three sons: Gary (Octavia) James, Willie (Shyrll) James, and Anthony (Frieda) Stackhouse;Twelve grandchildren: Christopher Williams, Ayekeia Skinner, Ahmad Porscha, Latifah Lowery, Julius Jones, Willie James, Shequil James, Brandon James, Daniel James, Yasmine Vereen, Makya Vereen, and Yakira Vereen;Six great grandchildren;four sister: Willistine Ridges, Lola (Preston) Smith, Maria ( Felton) Miles and Cherona James; four brothers: Nehemiah James Jr, Linwood James, Rodney ( Sandra) James and Harry James; two aunts: Oclevia James and Doretha Bristow; a special friend Leotha Haney and Lisa Collier.
The family will be receiving friends at the home 704 Hawk St. Loris, South Carolina 29569.
