Alvin Sylvester Brown
Alvin Sylvester Brown will always be remembered as someone who could fill a room with laughter. He was a hard worker who took pride in all that he did and carried himself with strength and determination.
Alvin was a proud graduate of Austin East High School, Class of 1980. Throughout his life, he remained dedicated to his family, always showing love and support to those closest to him. Alvin was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He poured his heart into the people he loved and made a lasting impact on everyone who was fortunate to know him.
He was a man of faith who believed in God and carried that belief with him throughout his life, trusting in His plan and finding strength in His presence.
Those who knew Alvin will remember not only his laughter, but also his words, words that lifted others up and reminded them of their worth. He often told his daughter, "Stay strong, you're already beautiful." Those words continue to live on, serving as a reminder to all of us of the love, encouragement, and quiet wisdom he shared so freely.
Alvin passed away on April 9, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Brown Sr. and Eloise Ellington Brown; his sisters, Janice Gaillard and Dorothy Brown Smith; his brother, Michael Brown; his nephew, Douglas Brown; and his great-nephew, Keith Brown.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory daughters, Whitney (Julian) McClellan and Briana Brown; grandchildren, Amari Moore, A'koi Brown, Azaire Brown, and Maya McClellan; sister, Cheryl Brown Carter; brother Aaron (Tina) Brown Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor his life and legacy.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that his love, laughter, and spirit will live on through all of us. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 2-3:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Unity Mortuary. www.unitymortuary1979.com
