Anthony D. Worthen Matthews - of Knoxville TN, age 55, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2025. He passed away peacefully, in his sleep, to go be with the Lord. Anthony graduated from South Young High in 1988. Anthony spent many years of employment at The University of Tennessee. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, James Matthews and Cathy Worthen, aunt, Audrey Henry. He leaves to cherish his memory to his son, Hakeem Worthen; daughter Tiaeshia Kelso; sister Michelle Justus (Steven), aunts Willenstine Arms and Joyce (Alan) Jones; grandchild Isaiah Worthen; nieces and nephews Brooklyn Justus, Zareeah Justus, Jadyn Justus, Steven Justus Jr, Bronx Justus; cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 2-3pm with the celebration of life to begin at 3pm at Unity Mortuary Chapel.
The final resting place will immediately follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
