Arthur Ross Jones, Jr.
“Arthur Ross Jones, Jr, class of 1990 at Holston High School, did his last “3-pointer” on July 10, 2025, and is now at peace. “Rossi” was born in Memphis, TN, and moved to Knoxville, becoming a lifelong resident of the area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Ross and Velma W. Jones, and his loving wife Kionia. His greatest joy was his two daughters, Jasmine and Alexandria, and his granddaughter Milan Velma. He loved playing basketball and writing in his downtime as well as ministering to the homeless. He also loved random acts of kindness, paying it forward, and being an inspiration to many. He will be remembered for sharing a smile, his kindness, humor, and love for his family.
He leaves to mourn his in-laws, Dewey Roberts II and Jeannie (Eugene) Parks of Knoxville; his daughters, Jasmine N. Jones (Nashville, TN), Alexandria R. (Aaron) Jones (Detroit, MI); brothers, VaShaun Jones, Dewey (Tracey) Roberts III, Chris Roberts, Carlos Herrera; sisters Rosslyn Herrera, Raechelle Jones, Aisha Roberts and Jennifer (Robert) Netherland; nieces, Oshia Evans, Ruth “Zoe” Herrera, Trayonna Roberts, Tre’cia Roberts, Cierra Roberts, Armoni Roberts; nephews, Shaun Ross Evans, Dewey Roberts IV, Christian Netherland, Pierce Netherland; and a special cousin who played the role of a brother, Berkeley Gilbert.”
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 12-2:00 p.m. at the Beck Cultural Center.

Never was there a better high school friend. The definition of "My Guy" and more than that you were strong, consistent and stable. For kids in high school to have those qualities is rare. Rossi J = Rare I will always remember you and us at our best. May God bless you Ross. May the sun forever shine upon your face and may His angels keep charge over thee and comfort your family through this loss.
