Memphis - It is with a broken heart that we sadly announce the passing of Cornell Mitchell Evans- born in Knoxville TN and resided in Memphis TN - on March 17, 2022. He is preceded in death by his maternal Great-grandmother; Sadie E. Satterwhite, Nephew; Massiah Drew, paternal Grandmother; Ruby Evans, paternal Aunt; Susie Ann Tory, and Uncle; John Evans. He is survived by his Mother; Cicely (Myron) McMullen, Father; Raven Evans, Sr., Mentor/Father; Sylvester Brown, maternal Grandparents; Alice (Jimmie) Penrose, Sisters; Jelessa Ealey, Alexandra Satterwhite, Zanmieyah Evans, Zarrea Evans, Oshia Evans, Brothers; Raven Evans, Jr. and Shaun Ross-Jones. He is also survived by 9 aunts, 9 uncles; several cousins, other relatives, and friends too numerous to name.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First A.M.E. Zion A.M.E. Church with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Micheal McNair officiating. The final resting place to conclude at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, TN. where a white dove release will conclude in his honor.

Mr. Evans will lie in state on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
