Dorothy Ann Brown Smith
Dorothy Ann Brown Smith entered to eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was born on February 14, 1958, in Knoxville, Tennessee and was a graduate of Austin East High School Class of 1975 and 1976 due to being an early graduate. She was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed cruising with the Buffalo Soldiers and the Aces, under the name of “Mother Nature”. Throughout her career, she was served with the United States Army, worked at Levi’s, TVA, Knoxville Area Transit and retired from the United States Postal Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Brown Sr and Eloise Ellington Brown. Brother Michael Brown, Sister Janice Gaillard, Nephew Douglas Brown, Great nephew Keith Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son, Charles CJ Smith, Jr, Grandchildren; Cash and Anessa Smith, Brothers; Aaron(Tina) Brown, Sr and Alvin Brown, Sister Cheryl Brown Carter, Nephews; Steven Brown, Russell Carter, Jr, Brian(Linda) Brown, James(Luakia) Gaillard, Nieces; Kimberly(Eddie) Jones, Shanna(Reginald) Hurst, Jennifer(Lamont) Rolle,LeAnn Brown, Whitney and Brianna Brown, Great Niece, Skylar Jones, Charmiss Carter,Jayla Brown, Great Nephews; Jordan(Natasha) Odom, Jaquez Carter, Treyvion Foster, Deshawn Perkins, Juelz Houston and Logan Brown, Special Friends; Jackie Mills, Grace Houston, Margo Macon, Faye(David) Boyd, Jack Wagner, Evelyn Minor and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 5-6:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
The final resting place will be held at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The service will conclude with full military honors and a dove release.

She truly loved her family and her cousins. You could always count on Dottie to leave a positive note on any post, lifting spirits without even trying. And honestly, she should have been a comedian, she had our family in tears laughing more times than we can count.

To the Brown and Smith family you have my deepest sympathy. I will really miss Dottie she was so nice and very witty she kept me laughing when I would talk to her, even when she was feeling bad. Rest on Dottie no more sickness or pain.

I was Dorothy caregiver and the short time we were together she was very sweet and a very nice person she made me feel welcome when I came I felt more than a caregiver I felt like a friend that's the type of person she was friendly and loving person she will be missed
