Obituary For Faye Ernestine Hodge Miller

Faye Ernestine Hodge Miller was born Sept. 8, 1937, the only child of Connie Mae Moulden in Strawberry Plains, Tn. and departed this life April 1,2024 at UT Hospital. She became part of the James W. Moulden family when he married Connie Mae and blended their families. JW’s daughter Maria Alana became a devoted step sister to Ernestine. Ernestine’s grandmother, Prunella Hodge, was the matriarch of a large Hodge family and Ernestine was the last survivor of that original family tree. She was united in matrimony to Walter A. Miller on Oct 2, 1954 and they were married more than 68 years at his death in April 2022 . One daughter, Teresa, was born to this union.

Ernestine accepted the Lord in her youth at Goodes Temple AME Church in Strawberry Plains and later in life was a member of The Boyds Creek Church of God in Sevierville Tn. serving faithfully as The Sunday School Secretary under the Pastorate of Bishop Zack Flack for almost 10 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Miller Brabson; grandson, Brandon Brabson; great grandson, Isaiah Flemmings; devoted stepsister ,Maria Alana Hodge; Nephew ,James(Kathy) Hodge; devoted great niece, Sydney Hodge; Sisters in law, Shirley Miller and Willamina Miller; Brother in law Aaron(Jamesena) Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Goodes Temple A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Herbert Grant and Bishop Zach Flack officiating.

The final resting place will be at the Eastview Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. A dove release will conclude in her honor.
