Frances R. “Bo” Mackerson
Frances R. Mackerson, affectionately known as “Bo”, was called to her eternal rest on August 22, 2024, at the age of 72. Her life was a testament of humility and gratitude as she professed her love for Christ.
Born December 1, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee, she was a proud graduate of Austin East High School, class of 1969. Ms. Bo was a humble servant, finding solace in the simplicity of life's joys. She found delight in family time, cooking, thrift shopping, and being the neighborhood’s granny, auntie, and best friend.
Her life was an expression of her faith in God. She attended Mt. Moriah FBH Church and Eternal Life Harvest Center. Her care for others continued throughout the community, as she served at Lonsdale Community Head Start Program, NHC, and later as a senior companion for the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC) Office on Aging. The delight of her life was nurturing the young, elderly, and all in between.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Isiah Anderson; sisters, Mary Mackerson and Mildred Greenlee; brothers, Leroy and Cecil Mackerson; and cousin, Brenda Dunn.
Those who remain in the afterglow of her smile, and who will cherish fond memories are her daughter, Kimberley (Shawn) Smith of Nashville, TN; two sons, Robert Meade Jr. of Knoxville and Micheal (Shiri) Anderson of Brentwood, TN; a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11-12:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin 12:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary with Rev. Renee Kesler officiating.
The final resting will immediately follow at New Grey Cemetery. A dove release will conclude in her honor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of Unity Mortuary. www.unitymortuary1979.com
