Frank Edward Dotson, Sr.
Frank Edward Dotson, Sr., known to many as “Frankie D,” passed away on March 15, 2026, at
the age of 79.
He lived in Knoxville and worked at Y-12 for 37 years before retiring. He had a natural gift for
humor and always had a joke or funny saying about life that could make people laugh. He loved
music and enjoyed the simple things in life.
Frank is survived by his children, Frank Dotson Jr., Jeff Dotson, Treva Allen, Sparkle Dotson, and Sheltan Wagoner; Ruby Dotson, mother of his oldest children; dedicated friends Lloyd Fears, Connie Holloway, and Riley Holloway; cousins Joyce Porterfield and Terri Porterfield; several grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
There will be no service at this time. There will be a private gathering for family and friends.

He always told me to follow my dreams and how proud of me he was no matter what, and that I can accomplish anything. I will miss him in his chair with his slides and socks on, thank you for being here and will know you're always watching me and my journey, I love you forever!
My grandfather was the best ever. He was there for me from birth and continued the same love and support with his great granddaughter Maleigha. He made us laugh and made us tough at the same time. Giving us the best advice on how to survive life is what made me the person I am today. He will truly be missed and forever live in our hearts. Love u granddaddy Frank.
