KNOXVILLE - Gennika Shera’ Woodruff, age 39 of Knoxville, born on March 14, 1983, passed away Monday, February 11, 2023. Gennika accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where she rededicated her life to Christ as an adult.
Preceded in death by her uncle, Daral R. Clemons; maternal grandparents: Hurbert and Marjorie Sue Howard Clemons; uncle, James C. Bowman; aunts: Kimmerita Clemons Moss and Gwen Woodruff; uncles: Troy Woodruff and Charles “Punkin” Woodruff; cousin, “Tee-Jay” Heidt; and grandfather, James “Jimmy” Woodruff.
With her passing she leaves to cherish her memory her father, Reginald Lamar Woodruff Sr.; mother, Jennie Clemons; daughter, Goddess JeOnnie Woodruff; brothers: Reginald Lamar Woodruff Jr., and Reginald LaTray Woodruff; sister, Trenkeeva Lavee Clemons; grandparents Carolyn and Richard C. Wright; aunt, Rhonda Woodruff, Boundra Bowman, Vanessa Clemons-Teasley; uncle, John Woodruff Sr., Herbert Clemons, and Esley Clemons; cousin Darlreesa Clemons; several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 12-1:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Baptist Church, 2342 Louise Ave., with Pastor Dexter Mims rendering the words of comfort. The final resting place will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery immediately following the service. A dove release will conclude. Per request of the family, Ms. Woodruff may only be viewed at the church during the hours of the visitation on Saturday.
