James William Bonds Jr., "Jim Boy," age 71, departed his life from this world, and entered his heavenly home on October 15, 2021.
James Jr. was born to Mary Ruth Bonds and James William Bonds, Sr., on March 24, 1950, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He loved dressing nice, traveling, playing the flute, and was dedicated to the "Stop the Violence" youth program in East Knoxville.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; sister, Regina Forney; and brother, Calvin "Spencer" Bonds. James Jr. was a loving father, and leaves to cherish his memories, his children Shallbowie Kasper Nelson (Gloria) Los Angeles CA; James Bonds-Nelson (Dana) Atlanta GA; Anthony Bonds Atlanta, GA; and Neika Bennett Knoxville TN; Seven grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Beverly Bonds Knoxville TN; Loving Nieces Michelle Forney, Rhonda Forney, Venus Hyatt, and Sherna Forney; Two great granddaughters; and a host of loving cousins and friends, with Fate "Jabo" Moulden, always his partner in crime.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 10:30a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Sandford Miller officiating.
Mr. Bonds will lie in state on Friday October 29, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
The family respectively asks that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
