Jimmy Lee Osborne

Jimmy Lee Osborne was born on March 19, 1944, in Sparkman, Arkansas, to the late Jim and Florence Osborne. He was raised in a large and loving family and grew up surrounded by siblings who helped shape the man he would become.

Jimmy attended Sparkman Training School, graduating in 1962. During his school years, he was known as an outstanding all-around athlete, especially excelling in track and field. His determination, strength, and competitive spirit made him stand out among his peers.

Jimmy enjoyed the outdoors and found peace in nature. Two of his greatest hobbies were fishing and hunting. Known as an excellent marksman and sharpshooter, he took pride in his skill and patience. Jimmy also believed strongly in being self-sufficient. Throughout his life he developed many practical skills and trades, including plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry. His hands were rarely idle, and he was always willing to help others when something needed fixing.

At an early age, Jimmy gave his life to Christ and became a member of First Baptist Church in Sparkman, Arkansas. He was baptized under the leadership of Reverend J. Allen. His faith remained an important part of his life and helped guide him throughout the years.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Florence Osborne, and ten beloved siblings: Rance Osborne, Belton Osborne, Elbert Osborne, Pervis John Osborne, Mary Louise Osborne, Andrew Daniel Osborne, Estelle Osborne, Esther L. Osborne Ragland, Gracie L. Osborne Hughes, and Theodore Osborne.

Though he has departed this life, Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family. Those who will forever cherish his memory include his former wife, Ramona Lambert; his five sons, James Osborne, Marcus Osborne (Glenda), Trefnor Rideout (Leishunda), Pervis Osborne (Dezrae), and Prentice Osborne (Ronyetta); and his daughter, Adrienne Osborne Turner (Daniel). He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will carry his memory forward.
He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Evangeline Osborne Groves (Rev. Israel B.S. Groves Jr.), and Mary E. Osborne Ward (deceased Charles Ward.)

Jimmy’s life was one of perseverance, faith, and dedication to family. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the many memories, lessons, and love he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sparkman Civic Club, Inc., 537 Kelly Street; Sparkman, Arkansas.
