John Alford Chandler, age 60, departed this life and entered eternal rest on August 11, 2023. John gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Boyds Creek Church of God in 2013.
John was born to Maxine Chandler and Alford Chadwell and raised in the Boyds Creek Community by his grandmother Martha Ellen Chandler. He was a hard worker who loved using his hands to clean by paying special attention to detail. He was educated through Sevier County Schools and later employed by Knox County Schools for many years where he was loved by faculty and friends.
Preceded in death by father, Alford Chadwell; mother, Maxine Chandler Calhoun (Milford) and stepfather David R. Cleveland Sr.; grandparents, Frank and Martha Ellen Chandler, and Curtis and Lee Chadwell.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are: wife, Regina M. Crisp Chandler; special loving and devoted children, Jontae Chandler (Blacksburg, VA), Johnathan (Cecelia) Chandler (Sevierville, TN), and Michaela Fortson (Knoxville, TN); brothers, Stevie (Tammy) Chandler (Seneca, SC), and David (Ashauna) Cleveland (Knoxville, TN); sisters, Teresa (Allen) Young, and Michelle (Rufus) Rogers, both of Knoxville, TN; grandsons, Prince Porter, Berkeley and Baylor Chandler, Messiah McKenzie; granddaughters, Leyianna and Kaia Taylor; uncles, Mayford (Katherine) Chandler (Sevierville, TN) and George Ferguson (Knoxville, TN); aunts, Jeanette Birden and Norma Jean Davis, both of Columbus, OH. He also leaves a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Several relatives and friends, too numerous to name.
