Kenneth (Ken) Eugene Smith
Kenneth (Ken) Eugene Smith, born to Henry Woodard and Grace Smith on May 9, 1948, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 4, 2026. His sudden departure has left family and friends deeply saddened, yet his spirit and legacy will forever live on.
Ken was genuinely a master of many skills. He graduated from Austin High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, on June 7, 1968, and pursued further education at the collegiate level, from which he graduated. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Ken served honorably in the Vietnam War, earning numerous distinctions, including:
• National Defense Service Medal
• Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars
• Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal
• Sharpshooter Expert Badge
After his military service, Ken dedicated nearly 20 years to Robert Shaws before retiring. He attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, instilling in his children the principle to fear no one but God. Known for his remarkable skills, Ken and his beloved brother Phil could fix anything—from cars to houses—and were always ready to lend a helping hand.
