Marcus Eason, 41
Marcus “Duke” Eason was born February 05, 1983 in Chicago, IL to Carolyn Thomas & James Eason. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in 2001, then began a career at the Cook County Clerks Office until 2003 when he moved to Knoxville, TN. In February of 2004 he met and began dating Shannon Cameron, by July 2006 they welcomed his pride & joy, Marshay Eason. On September 17, 2011 Marcus & Shannon became husband & wife. Soon after he began working at Power Systems where he was a dedicated worker for many years.
Marcus was best known for his humor & being a talented rapper. Some of his music can be found on YouTube. He had a passion for many things, an avid music lover, all things Chicago, WWE wrestling, comedy, history, and science. To know him was to love him. From his quick wit to his fiery side, to his kind heart, helpful nature, loving spirit, to his love of God, to his inquisitive mind to dive deeper. He was an amazing guy.
Marcus peacefully departed this life on June 26, 2024, in Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother: Carolyn Thomas; grandmother: Gloria Thomas; grandfather: Leo Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Shannon Eason; daughter: Marshay Eason; Father: James (Janice) Eason; brothers: James (Terrica) Jackson, Jalen Eason; sister: Jordan Eason; cousins: Ontario Knighten, Jimmica Patterson; devoted friends: Reap, Deuce, Bishop, Pac; and a host of other family & friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 2:30-3:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel, 1425 McCalla Ave. Knoxville, TN 37915 with Bishop Chris Holloway officiating.

I loved working with MArcus. He was always a friendly face and often inquired how my garden was coming along. I would bring him some of my hot peppers as they ripened.

Working with Marcus for the last 4 years, I feel blessed to have shared many laughs over our mutual love of comedy and "B" movies. His humor and wit will be sorely missed. Condolences to all who were lucky enough to have him in their lives.

Condolences to the family. I am so heartbroken for your family. I worked with Marcus for 6 years at Power Systems and he was a great guy. Not a man of many words but he was always so polite. Praying for his wife and daughter.
