Michael Eugene Chigano
Michael Eugene Chigano departed this life on October 21, 2021, at the age of 62, surrounded by loved ones. Michael was born on November 13, 1958, in Knoxville, TN to Chico Lopez Chigano Sr. and Faye Hill Metts.
Michael attended Austin-East High School. He was loved and respected by many in his community. Michael was compassionate, kind, and hospitable, as demonstrated by his service with KAT, where he worked for nearly 15yrs before retiring in April of 2019.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Chico Chigano Sr., and his mother, Faye Hill Metts.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Yolanda Chigano; brothers, Chico Chigano Jr., Malcolm (Patricia) Hill, and Maurice Thomas; sisters, Annie (Eric) Echols and Martha Howard; sons, Demichael Chigano, Isaiah Charite, and Ajontus (Shaquanna) Owens; daughters, Charlene Chigano, Malikah Chigano, Matiyah Chigano, Quana Fields and Tracie Fields; and a host of loving grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Eternal Life Harvest Center (West), 1801 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921 with Pastor Andrew Jackson officiating and Apostle Jerry Upton, Eulogist.
Mr. Chigano will lie in state on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
The family respectively asks that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
