Modestine Peggy Martin Cunningham

Modestine Peggy Martin Cunningham-born September 4, 1932 gained her angelic wings on September 21, 2021 at the Island Home Park Health Rehab. She was born to the late Raymond and Isabella Martin. She was also preceded in death by her sons James and Clifford Cunningham, her grandson Demond Woodard and life long friend Rufus Hardin.

Modestine is survived by by her three children: Gloria Cunningham Tipton, Pennie (Keith) Bragg and Richard (April) Hardin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the administrative staff of Island Home Health and Reahab.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:30 unitl 11:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Micheal Broadnax officiating. The final resting place will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens immediately following the service to conclude with dove release.

Mrs. Cunningham will lie in repose on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.

The family respectively asks that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
