Ollie Bonita Jenkins, age 75 of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee to M.C. Day and Clara Day. She attended Job Corps in Portland, Oregon, where she received a nursing certificate as a licensed practical nurse. Ollie was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She worked as a manager at Miller’s Department Store, Hess’s department store and J.C.Penney. In her spare time, Oille loved to draw and do arts and crafts. She cherished her family and had a humbling soul. She will be truly missed by all of her family and friends.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents: M.C. and Clara Day; brothers: Charles Dozier and David Day; sister: Hermie Day; husband: Tony Jenkins; and her daughter: Felita Caver.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law: Franke and Carolina Caver; stepsons: LaShaun Caver and Willburn Caver; stepdaughter: Lynette Andrew; son-in-law: Herman Singleton; grandchildren: Ruby Caver, Emilio Caver, Felize Singleton, Haley Singleton, and Trey Singleton; brothers: Frankie (Angela) Day, Marvin Day, and Michael (Eartha “Robin”) Day; sisters: Carolyn Day, Barbara Day Gordon, Betty Day, and Geneva Day; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on August, 31, 2024 at Unity Mortuary on McCalla Ave in Knoxville at 11:00 a.m.
