Rodney Madden
Rodney Calvin Madden was born in Knoxville, TN on March 6, 1958. He was called home on January 25, 2026. Rodney will be remembered for his warm spirit, playful nature, and the genuine joy he brought into the lives of others. He had a natural way of making people feel welcome, and his presence often filled a room with laughter, conversation and connection. Being around Rodney meant feeling at ease and sharing moments that stayed with you long after they passed.
He valued relationships and took pride in staying connected with family and friends. Rodney was uniquely gifted and had a thoughtful, lighthearted way of making everyday moments feel special.
Family meant a great deal to Rodney. He was deeply proud of his daughter, his grandchildren, and his extended family, often keeping photos of his loved ones close and speaking of them with pride and affection. Connection to family, to love and to shared moments mattered deeply to him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Darryl Madden, and his parents, Margretta Madden and James Calvin Madden, whom he held close in his heart. Rodney leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Catesha Williams; his sister, Deborah Nelson, of Atlanta, Georgia; his brother, Stanley Madden (Kay), of Knoxville, Tennessee; and his three cherished grandchildren - Makiya Garrett, Timothy Williams and Ayana Porter.
Rodney’s life reminds us that grace is a gift that's freely given and deeply sustaining. As Scripture tells us, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Per request of the family, there will be a private ceremony for Mr. Madden.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Unity Mortuary. www.unitymortuary1979.com.
