Rodney Elliott Smartt - EL, age 59 departed this life and entered eternal rest on October 14, 2024. He was born July 19, 1961.

Rodney was born to Dorothy and Lorenzo Smartt. He was a devoted husband and grandfather. Rodney attended every family and school function with his grandchildren. He served in the community and was loved by many.

He was in preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Smartt, niece Khaliyah Smartt, and grandson Jaxxon Flood.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Angela Cross-Smartt, and mother Dorothy Smartt, daughters Jessica Cross, China & Jade Cross, son Rodney Smartt Jr. grandkids Sebastian Riddle, Cayson Cross, Sevyn Flood, Heiress Gilbert; brothers Roderick Smartt, Derrick Smartt; sister Lorenda Smartt; nieces Kaliska Cross, Caressa Cross, Ki’andra Wilson, Jerrica Underwood, Kiara Smartt nephews; Tramon Randall, Ronnie Randall, LoJuan Wilson, Donte Wilson, Te’Von Smartt, Raquan Cross, and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved family members.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 11:30-12:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 12:00 noon at the Unity Mortuary Chapel, 1425 McCalla Ave. Knoxville, TN 37915.

Rodney I love u so much. When u called me to let me know u was sick my heart was broken in half lil brother. I thank God for letting spend time with u, and talk to u on the phone.
