Shirley Ann Moore
Shirley Ann Moore was born on September 12, 1944, and left this earth on Friday, May 29, 2026. Shirley was a devoted mother, sister, friend, and a steady, loving presence to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her infectious smile made everyone feel welcome, and her generous spirit taught her children the true meaning of serving and giving.
Shirley dedicated more than 30 years of service to St. Mary’s Hospital, where her compassion and work ethic touched countless lives. She raised her children with unwavering love and support, always doing everything she could to ensure they had the opportunities and experiences they desired. From her mother, Viola, Shirley learned the value of hard work, kindness, and service—principles she passed on to her own children with grace and consistency.
In addition to being a devoted mother, Shirley became a caregiver for her mother, Viola, and later for her brother, Freddie. Her steady presence and loving care kept them comfortable and supported until their passing.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Viola Brown, and her brother, Freddie Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Annie Mae (Bobby) Stephens of Marietta, Georgia; her children, Furery Moore Reid, Sheldon Moore, Deanna Gordon (James), and Sedalia Brabson; her niece, Teresa Hambrick of Marietta, Georgia; and her nephews, Craig Stephens and Bruce Stephens, also of Marietta, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren (Jalen, Aaron, Justin, Justice, DeAngelo), a devoted family friend, Sanford O’Neal, and a host of great grandchildren and cousins.
Shirley’s life was a testament to love, service, and quiet strength. Her legacy lives on in the many hearts she touched.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
Psalm 91:1-2.
