Woodie Sanders was a gentle soul who brought a smile to the faces of all who were fortunate enough to share his company. Peggy and I rarely missed a week that we didn?ÇÖt go by to pick up a watermelon, peaches, or some fresh peas that he had shelled, while waiting for customers, and parked at his regular place, in the shade of Alberta City?ÇÖs Viaduct. Our contact with Woodie was not unlike so many others who knew him. He was our produce man on wheels. But he was also our neighbor, and our friend. We will miss you, Mr. Sanders. Rest in peace.
