Obituary For Charlie Tanner
Mr. Charlie Tanner, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.
Homegoing Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM from the sanctuary of Mt. Olive AME Church located at 2135 Fairview Road in Marianna, Florida.
Vann Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Tanner will lie in repose at the church from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family: Wife: Janice Tanner of Marianna, Florida
Two Daughters: Rashal Hearns of Tallahassee, Florida and Janice Hearns of Marianna, Florida
Three Brothers: Otto (Elouise) Tanner, Jr. and Lawrence (Ida Bee) Tanner both of Marianna, Florida and Rev. Jerome (Mary Nell) Tanner of Tallahassee, Florida
Two Sisters: Bobbie Peace and Evelyn (John) Boyd both of Marianna, Florida
Two Brothers-in-law: Calvin (Teresa) Clemmons of Marianna, Florida and Roger (Paulette) Clemmons of Sumter, South Carolina
Two special nieces: Tess Tanner-Jones of Jacob City, Florida and Cassandra Speights-Laster of Marianna
And a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

Charlie always had that smile 😊 on his face, would be willing to give a helping hand no matter of the circumstances, always had advice for the young people in the community. In the community some called him"Big Daddy", he will be greatly missed. Linwood Pittman and Family

Charlie was not only my cousin, but the guardian and mentor of young men growing up in our community. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will truly be missed. Every time I come home Charlie would be the one that always stop and talk to me and my brother about the fish we caught that day.
Mr.Tanner,was a friend of mine,his was a very likable person,with a great smile,he will be missed greatly.
