Obituary For Chester Leon Collins
Mr. Chester Leon Collins of Greenwood, Florida transitioned from life eternal on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Pope Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 4898 Pope Chapel Circle in Marianna, Florida 32446 where the Reverend Larry Brown is the pastor.
Interment will be in the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenwood, Florida.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of precious yet fonder memories, a loving family:
One Daughter: C'Keisha Collins of St. Petersburg, Florida
Grandson: Twan Capehart, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida
Two Sisters: Tammy Collins of Greenwood, Florida; and Estella Johnson of Marianna, Florida
Nephew: Clinton (Rachel) Collins of Pensacola, Florida
Niece: Serena Collins of Tallahassee, Florida
Grand Nephew: Chauncey Warren of Tallahassee, Florida
Special Cousin: Lester Forrest, Jr. of Greenwood, Florida
And a host of cousins, relatives and sorrowing friends.

I could always count on a conversation with Chess at the Greenwood supermarket while I was on my lunch break. Always a ready smile, bro handshake and kind words. I will miss that. It still seems unreal. Lois, Tammie and the entire family you have my family's sincerest condolences and you are in our thoughts and prayers. Chess my friend, rest easy until we meet again......

I have no words to express how saddened I am to hear about Leon's transition. Leon's loss is immeasurable, but his legacy will live on forever through all who had the privilege of knowing him. I will truly miss my neighbor.
