Deacon Nathaniel Battle, better known as Joe, of Blountstown, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, Florida. He is the son of the late Johnny B. and the late Mary Z. Battle.
Deacon Battle was a founding member of the Prayer Chainers Mission of God located in the Hugh Creek Community of Blountstown, Florida. He was married to the late Mother Bessie Lois Isom Battle for over 40 years. He loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman enjoying times with his friend, the late Brother Charles E. Sheard.
Deacon Battle worked numerous jobs. He retired from Reichold Chemical Plant and was a commercial driver for many years. He was the type of person you never forgot, but he loved his family and loved helping others. Deacon Battle's pride and joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed.
The Homegoing Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from the sanctuary of the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 16076 SE River Street in Blountstown, Florida with Apostle G.B. Sheard officiating.
Deacon Battle will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until time for the service.
The family will receive friends at Vann Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories a loving an devoted family.
