Mrs. Dollie Mae Hewitt of Greenwood, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in Chipola Nursing Pavilion in Marianna, Florida.
Mrs. Hewitt was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served in various capacities. She was a certified nurse’s assistant for over 30 years in Jackson County, Florida. To know her was to love her.
Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the sanctuary of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church located at 3996 Wintergreen Road in the Two Egg Community of Greenwood, Florida with Pastor Kevin Williams, the Reverend DeRon Johnson, and the Reverend L.V. Farmer officiating.
Mrs. Hewitt will lie in state at the church from 12 O’clock noon until time for the service.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the chapel of Vann Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her fond and precious memories a loving and devoted family:

Two Granddaughters she raised as her own: Martha Hewitt and Tracy Hewitt both of Greenwood, FL
One Brother: Willie Slivers of Fort Pierce, FL
Three Sisters: Virginia Paramore of Tallahassee, FL; Georgia Mae Perry; and Martha Pittman both of Greenwood, FL
Three Grandsons: Charles (Sandy) McLeroy of San Bernardino, CA; Bernard McLeroy of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Christopher McLeroy of Dothan, AL
Two Special Friends: Lula Kelly of Marianna, FL and Mary Brown of Sneads, FL
And of host of Great Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren, other relatives and man dear friends.
